After completing the registration form you will receive instructions on how to pay a deposit of $240. This deposit serves as a booking fee and will be deducted from the total price of the retreat.
The rest of the amount is paid in cash in dollars on the first day of the retreat.
The price includes everything except air tickets - all trips listed in the program, ceremonies, transportation throughout the trip, translator, guides, accommodation, basic meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
We are located in: Ecuador-Napo, Cotundo (map)
Both shamans are located approx. 25-30 minutes by car from us. After that, we need to go deeper into the jungle, where the journey will take about 30 minutes by normal walking.
Around 2-3 pm. on the day of the start of the expedition, the driver will pick you up from your hotels near the airport, or at the airport. If you stay in the center of Quito, you will have to travel to the airport on the day of the start of the expedition, from where we will drive together towards the jungle. The journey will take approximately 3-4 hours.
On the last day of the trip, a personal transport will take you all to your designated places in Quito.
The maximum number of people in one group is 8.
A private tour can be arranged. The trip can also be done for one person. However, the price will be a little more expensive.
Many people come to the expedition solo and there is nothing to be afraid of. During the expedition we travel everywhere as a group. No one will feel alone here. Everyone who always comes here immediately becomes friends together and stays in touch even after the expedition.
There is a friendly and family atmosphere here, where the goal is for everyone to feel at home and part of the group.
You don't need to speak any foreign language. Everything will be translated for you during the expedition.
After paying the deposit, you will receive a personal guide by email, where you will have all the detailed information about the trip.
14 days before the trip, we will send you diet instructions and all the important information you need to know.
If you have any special dietary requirements, are vegan or vegetarian, just add this information in the registration form.
Although it is very important to follow a diet during Ayahuasca ceremonies, you can look forward to tasty, high-quality and healthy food such as rice, chicken, fish, vegetables, lentils, eggs, vegetable soups, potatoes, fruits, etc.
During some trips we also visit locals
restaurant, so you will have the opportunity to taste other dishes as well.
This basic meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included in the price, everything else, such as a snack, etc., is covered by everyone at their own expense.
I would also like to mention that lunch will be the last meal we eat on the day of the ceremony.
To ensure you enjoy your stay to the fullest and don't have to stress about transportation we will have a private driver available to us throughout our expedition.
In the area where we will be moving there are two hospitals and one private clinic. Private clinics, hospitals and other facilities have qualified staff, modern equipment and quality facilities but all procedures must be paid for on the spot. Therefore, I recommend taking out travel insurance that covers any expenses in full.
The flight information is available here in the 'Flights' section.
For traveling to South America no visa is required. Upon arrival in the country you will automatically receive a stamp allowing entry for 3 months. It is necessary to have a valid passport for at least 6 months (passport validity must not be less than six months). Information about flights, transportation and travel insurance can be found here.
The weather in Ecuador is very changeable and unpredictable. It depends on whether you arrive during the rainy season or the dry season. In the Amazon it is warm all year round, but also humid. It rains here and there for a while and average temperatures range from 26–30 °C so you will need not only rubber boots but also a raincoat. However, you don't have to worry about the rain affecting our program. In the evening temperatures here range around 20 °C.
No vaccinations are required for entry into Ecuador. In the areas where we will be moving there is no stagnant water so mosquitoes that could infect you with malaria are not present. Although there is no such danger and you still want to get vaccinated you certainly can. Since the vaccine can weaken your immune system, I recommend getting vaccinated at least 3 weeks before departure.
The mobile network operates on the 850 Mhz band which can be problematic for most Czech SIM cards. Therefore I recommend purchasing a SIM card from CLARO or MOVISTAR directly in Ecuador. The price of a SIM card including data connection is around +/- $10, depending on the data volume you will need. I also use this company and it works great. However, it is important to note that you will only get a signal in cities and some uncertain places during travel. In the jungle, however you won't connect to any operator's network. If you want I can help you purchase a SIM card as it is available almost everywhere in larger cities. However, you don't have to worry about being completely cut off from the rest of the world. Wi-Fi is available in the accommodation where we will be staying. Thanks to this you can stay connected for example through apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. When we get to the shamans in the jungle, don't expect any signal there.
The only official currency in Ecuador is the US dollar. I recommend bringing enough cash in the smallest possible denominations. Since there are many counterfeit bills circulating in the country in denominations of 50 and 100 USD, most merchants only accept bills up to 20 USD.
However, in larger cities, supermarkets and hotels, card payments are often accepted. It's better to exchange money in your own country. ATMs can be found in all major and even smaller cities, but they don't always work perfectly. Card payments are possible in larger establishments, but expect to be charged a fee of 3-10% of the purchase price. Most upscale hotels add a 12% tax and a 10% service charge to the bill, which is usually already included in the total price.
