Retreat policies

1. Commitment and Personal Responsibility

By registering for and paying for the retreat, the participant confirms their serious intention to attend and to fully participate in the program.

An ayahuasca retreat requires extensive preparation, organization, and commitment from the retreat team and indigenous shamans.

2. Non-Refundable Policy During the Retreat

Once the retreat has begun, no refunds will be provided under any circumstances.

This applies in particular to:

  • voluntary departure from the retreat

  • personal discomfort, emotional difficulty, or change of mind

  • early departure for personal, family, or travel reasons

  • disagreement with the process or intensity of the experience

Working with ayahuasca is a deep and demanding process, and each participant takes full responsibility for their own experience.

3. Cancellation Policy Before Arrival

Payments made are used to cover:

  • preparation of the retreat space

  • accommodation and meals

  • indigenous shamans and assistants

  • ceremony preparation and logistics

For this reason:

  • deposits are non-refundable

  • refunds before arrival may be considered only in exceptional cases, solely at the discretion of the retreat organizer

Each case is evaluated individually.

4. Change of Retreat Date

If a participant is unable to attend the retreat on the originally booked date, they may request a change to another available retreat date.

The following conditions apply:

  • the paid deposit remains valid and is non-refundable

  • the deposit will be transferred to the new date

  • a date change is allowed only once

  • in exceptional and justified cases, a second change may be permitted

  • no further date changes are possible

5. Obligation to provide proof of flight ticket

Date changes are possible only with prior agreement and subject to availability, and require approval from the retreat organizer.

Each participant is obliged to send a copy of their flight ticket or confirmation of flight ticket purchase before the start of the retreat, no later than the date set by the organizing team.

This step serves as confirmation of a serious intention to actually arrive. In the past, it has repeatedly happened that despite the deposit paid, some participants did not show up without notice, thus blocking the place for other interested parties.

The flight ticket is considered proof that the participant is actually planning to arrive and can be fully calculated within the framework of organizing the retreat.

If the flight ticket is not sent even after the organizer’s request, the reservation may be considered inactive and the place may be offered to another interested party without the right to a refund of the deposit.

6. Personal Readiness and Responsibility

By attending the retreat, participants acknowledge that:

  • ayahuasca is a powerful traditional medicine

  • the process may be physically, emotionally, and psychologically intense

  • no specific results, outcomes, or healing can be guaranteed

Participants take full responsibility for their physical, mental, and emotional condition before, during, and after the retreat.

7. Medical and Psychological Disclosure

All participants are required to truthfully and fully disclose:

  • medical conditions

  • mental health history

  • medications taken, including antidepressants, psychiatric medications, and other substances that may be dangerous in combination with ceremonies

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate removal from the retreat without refund.

8. Statement of Responsibility and Assumption of Risk Upon Arrival

On the day of arrival, each participant is required to sign a written Statement of Personal Responsibility and Assumption of Risk related to participation in the retreat organized by AMAYAS ECUADOR S.A.S.

The participant acknowledges that the retreat includes activities that involve inherent and unpredictable risks, including but not limited to:

  • stay in the Amazon jungle

  • movement in natural and uneven terrain

  • physical, psychological, and spiritual activities

  • traditional ceremonial and cleansing rituals

  • exposure to natural environment, climate, wildlife, and flora

The participant declares that:

  • they are in good physical and mental condition

  • they have provided complete and truthful information regarding their health condition

  • they are not using any contraindicated medications, drugs, or substances

  • they have followed all required preparation and dietary guidelines

The participant acknowledges that not all risks can be fully eliminated and voluntarily assumes full responsibility for their participation, including any possible physical, psychological, material, or other consequences.

9. Respect for the Space and the Process

The retreat space is based on:

  • respect

  • safety

  • trust

  • respect for indigenous traditions

Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior may result in immediate exclusion from the retreat without refund.

10. Force Majeure and Uncontrollable Circumstances

The retreat takes place in a natural jungle environment, where unpredictable and uncontrollable circumstances may occur.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, storms, flooding)

  • landslides or impassable roads

  • natural disasters

  • power, water, or transportation outages

  • other situations classified as force majeure

If such circumstances:

  • affect the course of the retreat

  • prevent certain activities from taking place

  • or cannot be reasonably remedied

No refunds or partial refunds will be provided.

The organizer will always make reasonable efforts to adapt the program to ensure participant safety and continuity, but such circumstances cannot be considered the fault of the organizer.

11. Acceptance of These Policies

By submitting a registration form and making payment, the participant confirms that they:

  • have read these Retreat Policies

  • fully understand them

  • agree to them

These policies are final and binding.
